Tenjin Launches Dynamic Store Cut for iOS
Tenjin has launched Dynamic Store Cut for iOS apps. Revenue reporting now applies to Apple’s country-specific commission rates.
Apple’s global commission rates have changed for the EU, China, Japan, and Brazil, with new terms starting October 1, 2026 for the EU. This is important for apps with a global user base or from many countries, since a single flat deduction misstates net revenue, along with the ROAS and LTV figures built on top of it.
How Dynamic Store Cut Works
Dynamic Store Cut checks the storefront country of each iOS IAP and subscription event. It then applies Apple’s published rate for that country on that transaction date. Each transaction gets exactly one rate.
Apps can now choose between two store cut modes:
- Manual: Tenjin applies the single rate you set for the app. If you haven’t set one, the default is 30%.
- Dynamic: Tenjin applies the published Apple rate for each event’s storefront country and transaction date. This rate replaces the manual rate. It is not added on top.
If your app is in Apple’s Small Business Program, you have the option to turn on the reduced-fee setting and Dynamic mode that applies the reduced tier. The reduced rate is 15% in most markets and 12% in China. If Apple has already deducted its commission before an event reaches Tenjin, then Tenjin won’t deduct it again.
Apple Store Cut Rates by Storefront
Dynamic mode applies these Apple IAP and subscription rates:
| Storefront | Standard Rate | Reduced Rate * | In Effect Since | Notes |
| EU | 26% | 15% | 1 October 2026 | New EU Terms |
| China | 25% | 12% | 15 March 2026 | Regulator-driven |
| Brazil | 26% | 15% | April 2026 | Billed as 21% commission + 5% processing |
| Japan | 26% | 15% | 17 December 2025 | Billed as 21% commission + 5% processing |
| US & Others | 30% | 15% | Standing | Apple’s default rate |
* Reduced rate applies to apps in Apple’s Small Business Program.
Why Accurate Store Cut Matters
Net revenue is the foundation for ROAS, LTV, and payback calculations. When the app store cuts are inaccurate, then all the metrics and measurements built on top are too.
Global Apps Earn Across Many Rate Zones
In one day, one app can earn revenue in the EU, US, Japan, and China. Each one of those markets has a distinct commission rate and one blanket rate won’t be able to reflect those differences. For example, if you take $100 of EU purchases, a flat 30% deduction reports $70
in net revenue, while the actual figure under the 26% rate is $74. The gap grows with every active market your app operates in.
Make Better Decisions About Where to Scale
Likewise, when net revenue is accurate by country, campaign and country comparisons are accurate too. UA teams are able to see the return from each market, instead of a figure skewed by one rate.
The Dynamic Store Cut update helps teams:
- Report net revenue that matches what Apple actually pays out per market
- Compare ROAS across countries without a built-in rate distortion
- Feed more accurate revenue into LTV and pLTV analysis
- Skip tracking each Apple rate change and recalculating it by hand
Complimentary to Subscription Revenue Reporting
Dynamic Store Cut applies to subscription events as well as one-time IAP. Subscriptions get the same country rate as IAP, so revenue in Tenjin’s Subscription Revenue Reporting reflects the correct Apple commission by market.
What’s Included in This Release
This first release covers the revenue Tenjin can measure precisely today:
- iOS apps
- First-party Apple in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Country-level rates for the EU, China, Japan, Brazil, and the US/default
- The reduced tier for apps in Apple’s Small Business Program
Rates apply from the date you switch to Dynamic mode onward. Historical revenue is not recalculated.
Some Apple Store fee structures aren’t covered yet, because Tenjin can’t separate those transactions from standard App Store purchases. All purchase and subscription events are treated as first-party App Store transactions. Here’s what’s not yet included:
- Alternative payment processing and link-out purchases in the EU, Japan, and Brazil
- Alternative app marketplaces
- Alternative payment providers in South Korea
- Reduced rates for subscriptions after one year of paid service
- Apple’s Video Partner and Mini Apps Partner programs
- Android apps

To switch an app to Dynamic mode:

- Go to the Apps menu and click on Settings
- For iOS apps, under the store cut, select Dynamic.
- If your app is in Apple’s Small Business Program, turn on the setting.
