Tips for Getting the Most Out of Tenjin’s MCP Server #
- Start simple, then go deeper.
- Begin with segments and metrics you already know. Once you have a baseline, ask Claude to narrow the focus and provide a more specific breakdown.
- Describe metrics in plain language.
- If you don’t know the exact metric name, describe what you’re looking for. Claude will find the closest match.
- Keep your sessions focused.
- Avoid letting conversations run too long. When you find something interesting, open a new chat and start asking Claude to retrieve the same data. This keeps queries fast and accurate.
- Once you have the data you need, go further.
- You can ask Claude to build a chart or ask for recommended next steps based on your findings.
- Claude works best for:
- Summarizing large data sets as text, bullet points, or tables
- Identifying top and bottom performing segments
- Surfacing anomalies from data already retrieved in your current Session
- Claude is not designed for:
- Guessing what you want
- Open ended questions or undirected exploration
- Finding unknowns outside of data already retrieved in your current Session.
